Our Long Weekend
We headed home to have supper with Daddy and Dan and Jane. Chris and I still had not gotten our shopping done for Madi so we left her at Dan and Jane's and ran to Wal-Mart. As we pulled up at their house, she was out front riding her new bike!! Evidently, she found her present early!! She had fun riding with Grandpap and she did really well. She rode that bike for two hours and I had to drag her off of it. It was getting dark and late and she was getting upset and frustrated. It had been a long day and she was exhausted, but didn't want to give up!
Saturday we loaded up and went back out to the lake. Still wasn't windy but it was hot and very busy. We had to play in little spurts and take turns. I am not doing well in the heat this summer, gives me headaches and I feel like passing out. It wasn't even that hot yet, only in the upper 80s. July and August are going to be miserable. Madi did some more bike riding and we went back out in the boat Saturday afternoon and then again in the evening. She again got a couple of presents early. We got her a new life jacket and a fishing rod. It was the only thing she asked for for her birthday, "a fishing rod!"
Came home Monday morning to get things ready for a small get together for Madi's birthday at 5:00. Madi got up from her nap and helped make her birthday cake. She had fun doing that! Then everyone started showing up and she got some more of her presents early. I don't think Papa and Uncle Jon could wait until later, they were too excited! Nana and Papa gave her a big wheeled tricycle. Uncle Jon got her a hot wheels Mustang. Wheels must have been the theme for this year. We had spaghetti and meatballs for supper and cake after. Then we opened the rest of the gifts. She got a lot of clothes and after the third box of clothes she opened, you could tell she was not interested at all. Chris had some shirts printed with our logo on them. She was excited to wear them yesterday. She said "Now I go to work with Daddy and pull wire!" He even had a little onesie printed for the new baby, very cute!! We did our birthday tractor ride and then everybody went on their own ways shortly after. We decided that it is much more fun (even for the adults) to have a bunch of kids running around at birthday parties. So next year, it's on!!
It was a nice weekend and a nice birthday, but I was feeling it yesterday. Thank goodness Madi was in a lazy mood also because that's what we were, lazy, lazy. Bob and Patty came over last night to give Madi her gift. The first two things she pulled out were clothes. I couldn't see her face but I heard her grumble. Until she could see the bottom of the bag and spotted the bubbles, she was much happier. I'm sure all kids grumble for clothes as gifts but I was pretty excited about it!! Thank you everyone!!
Here's our pictures from the weekend.
I had to do my picture roll from the last year. I wasn't going to, but I have to!! I can't believe how much she has changed in the last year. Three years old, it goes by soo fast!

Yesterday, Madi and I went to the zoo in the morning. It was nice and cool out, a little windy, but not bad. It took us about 2 hours to get through and we stopped and had lunch at the cafe there. By the time we left, there were 14 school buses in the parking lot. But the place is still big enough that it sure didn't seem that there were that many kids. The only time we were a little crowded was in the monkey viewing area. After we ate, Madi wanted to go back through the zoo. She is usually ready to leave, so I don't know if she was really having that great of a time or just because there were kids all over the place.
Here are some pics from two weekends ago at Jason and Tabatha's house and from the zoo.
Madi had her 3 year well check this afternoon. She is doing great and she talked up a storm with the doctor. She weighs 37 lbs (93%), 39.5 in tall (92%). Intellectually she is almost at a 4 year old. They checked her blood pressure for the first time and she did great. I really thought she would make a fuss but she didn't. The only thing that made her mad was me trying to take her clothes off. She didn't want to put the shirt on they left for her because it was too big!! I didn't tell her we were going to the doctor today. I just drove there and she thought we were at my doctor. I think it helped because she usually throws a fit the whole time we are there.
We don't have any plans for the long weekend so far. Maybe we will make it out to the lake sometime. We are having a small get together for Madi's birthday on Monday afternoon. I think she would enjoy having all the kids out again, but we will wait another year for a big party again. Next year we can have her birthday the weekend before and it won't fall on Memorial weekend.
Have a great, safe long weekend. Congrats to all the teachers, summer break is here or almost here!!

Half Way!!
-----------------------------------------
Finally had a break through with Madi this week!! All of a sudden Monday she decided to now poop every time she uses the potty. YAY!!! She has been so much more happy and easier to get along with, what a difference. Hopefully she keeps it up.
Have a great week!!

Little Road Trip
We started walking this huge tractor show and found out that you can rent golf carts and cruise the show. We asked somebody about it and they said they were told they were all rented out. We decided that was okay, we can walk it. After about an hour, the temp started soaring, Madi was up and down wanting to be held and carried, and I was getting extremely light headed, we thought maybe we better check it out for ourselves. We ended up getting one and what a lifesaver. We probably would have only made it another hour before calling it quits if it hadn't been for the golf cart. Which would have been a real wasted trip since it was only noon and the auction didn't start until 5. So we made it the rest of the day. We all got burned, Madi especially. I felt so bad, I didn't even think about sunblock. It's too early in the summer season to have gotten use to putting sunblock on again. Madi crashed about 3:30 and took a nice hour nap. Went to the auction and then headed for Dodge City. (Oh by the way, you can also take your own golf cart, will have to remember that for next time. At least we wouldn't have pulled an empty trailer there and back if we had taken ours!)
Chris has a friend that runs the parts house in Dodge, he used to work here in town. So we stopped at his place and visited and had supper and then headed to the hotel. He reserved our room for us and you could tell by his choice of rooms that he is a bachelor and has no kids. We ended up getting a King Master Suite (He thought this was so awesome!). Which means it has a nice king size bed in a two story room. It was a narrow room with a sitting area, tv and bathroom downstairs and then you take a spiral staircase to the second floor with the bed and tv. So the stairs were a little freaky even for myself, really narrow and open. They totally freaked Madi out and we ended up having to carry her up and down the stairs. Not the greatest situation when I am pregnant and keeping my balance is hard enough and a little one still needing help with the potty. Nevertheless, we will be making our own accommodations for now on!!
We got up this morning and visited Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City. Not that impressive and totally not worth making a special trip for and then headed home. We took the scenic route and went to Hutchinson and then to Salina. We were going to stop at the Cosmosphere but after driving by and seeing at least 6 large school buses parked in the parking lot, we thought we will make this trip again during the summer when field trips won't be happening.
So we are now home. Chris and Madi are taking a nap and I should be doing the same. Tomorrow is Chris' big tractor parade with the Flywheels Museum. They are taking a ride around the country side in the morning, stopping for lunch at one of the members home and then finishing back at the Museum. Chris is going to drive his JD and Dan is going to drive the Farmall. They have been working all last weekend and in the evenings to get the tractors tuned up and ready to go. Madi and I are headed for Wichita in the morning to see Jason and Tabatha and Jaxson. I can't wait!! I need to get my baby fix again, he is just too cute! Hopefully I'll have more pics when I get back, that's if I'm not holding him the whole day!!

Quick pregnancy update (20 weeks):
Still feeling great but extremely tired. I can't find a good position to lay in at night and not wake up aching all over. I've been feeling some fluttering movements since Sunday. Especially in the evening when I finally sit down and relax. Otherwise, no changes to note. My next appointment is Wednesday and we will see how things are going then.
Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day on Sunday!!

Jaxson Drake Gengler
Jaxson is finally here!!! After 29 hours of labor, Jaxson was born at 2:21 am on May 2, 2009. He weighed 8 lbs 13 oz. and is 21 in. long. He has dark hair and blue/green eyes. He also has Jason's dimple in his chin! He is absolutely adorable and I just could not get enough of him. He is very laid back and quiet (just like his parents!) The only time he fussed was when the doctor or nurses were checking him out, otherwise you could find him hanging out with his daddy.
Tabatha and Jason are doing great. They were both extremely exhausted when we left, but that is to be expected. They had a very long two days. They should be going home today and Jason is off for the next two weeks, so hopefully they can get all caught up. Jason could not get enough of his little man and we had to steal Jaxson from him a couple of times. It was very cool to see!!
Congratulations Jason and Tabatha!! We love you!!
